2022-23 Budget Approved

The Central Community College Board of Governors has approved an operating budget for 2022-23, which includes a fifth consecutive decrease in the property tax levy for the 25 counties served by CCC.
The property tax levy was set at 9.0273 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, down from 9.1824 cents in 2021-22.
“The CCC Board of Governors is pleased to be able to again decrease the property tax levy for the 25 counties we serve,” said John Novotny, board chair. “We have a great board, administration and staff that helps to ensure the highest and best use of the property tax dollars received. That in turn helps to support the greater economy of our 25 counties and beyond.”
The total tax supported budget for 2022-23 is $72,670,730, which is an increase of $548,230 from the 2021-22 budget.
“Central Community College is pleased to continue the important work of serving students throughout our 25-county service area in essential careers like agriculture, advanced manufacturing, criminal justice, nursing, information technology, and emergency medical services,” said CCC President Dr. Matt Gotschall. “Our elected board appreciates the additional state aid to help in reducing local property tax rates while providing competitive wages for high quality faculty and staff to work with our students.”
In addition to local property taxes, other revenues include state aid, tuition and other sources tied to bookstores and food services, which are affiliated with CCC.
Additionally, the college has budgeted $10,462,978 in the capital improvement fund, a $39,444 decrease from 2021-22, and $2,678,762 in a fund for removal of hazardous materials and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (HazMat/ADA), a $587,674 increase from 2021-22. The HazMat/ADA and capital improvement funds are also supported entirely through property taxes from CCC’s 25-county service area.
Property taxes are based on property valuations for the 25 counties served by CCC, which reported an increase in total valuation of $2,406,314,546, or an increase of 4.35 percent.
Total budgeted disbursements and transfers for Central Community College in 2022-2023 will exceed $127 million.
